Much later in Ponyville park the ponies are ether playing, talking or relaxing, all of them are having fun, all but one sad flat maned, dulled pink pony sitting on a fountain edge looking into the water feeling sorry for herself, it is Pinkie pie now Pinkamena Diane Pie but more controlled and less insane and she is thinking about Shadow and his "smile", what did she do to deserve this? Are there other ponies who will not smile like she want them to? Are there ponies who want to be left alone and stay grumpy? All these questions full her head she heard Twilight's voice spoke to her but she couldn't turn to face it.

Pinkie, are you ok?

No answer.

Listen, I know you're upset, but hear me out, we are here for you, all of us, Aj, Rarity, Sonic, Knuckles and all the rest, we saw what happen today and we see the results, but try to understand that there are more ponies can still smile, so if your up to it we could throw a party just for you. Ok? we'll leave you alone for a bit and...

No, it's a saying, it's means " You can show somepony how to do something but you can't make them do it", so you see Pinkie, there are some who cannot smile but most of them can.

And there are ponies who can't smile still have some fun in their own way.

And there are ponies who can smile before can still have fun with you.

Pinkie was silence for a moment, she looks at her friends minus Shadow and saw the hopeful happiness on their faces, some with worry looks, others with understanding looks and most with love. (Not romantically!) 

A minute have passed and then small smile came slowly on Pinkie face, then it grows bigger and wider and sure enough a real smile shine on her face. Her mane was once flat and dull sprang up to life, back to it's normal poofy style and her dull pink coat lights with bright pink once again, Pinkie is back to her old self.

You know what, You're right! I shouldn't force them to do so! They can be happy in their own way, even when they don't smile! What a silly filly I am! And you know what really make me happy, a PARTY!!!

Pinkie friends cheered with joy while others (Mostly the serious ones) sigh of relief, Pinkie was about to start a party until something popped in her head.

Could you hold the party for a moment, I need to do something first.

Pinkie dashes off leaving her friends behind, they all watched her go, unsure to what she is doing, Twilight thinks for a minute and said to the group.

You lot start the party at sugarcube corner, I'll follow her.

I'm coming with you!

And i'm coming with you as well, just in case of, you know.

Twilight smiles at Sonic's and Spike's assistance, the two set off while the group watches them go.

The sun was started to set when Pinkie came across sweet apple acres, she headed towards a hill she been before and on that same hill is a black figure leaning on a tree watching the sunset, it was Shadow, he still have that original frown on his face, his arms was crossed and his eyes are closed. Pinkie trotted up to him but stopped she couldn't get any closer, She did Pinkie promise him to leave him alone but she can't rest until something must be done, so she said in a soft tone.

Shadow? It's me Pinkie Pie, I'm sorry for breaking your promise for a bit but I just want to say something to you.

No answer.

Ok, just listen to this, I just want to say, I'm really, really sorry, for everything, for pestering you, for forcing you to party, for chasing you and forcing you to smile, I understand now that if you don't want to smile, that is fine and I did learn the meaning of "you can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink" means.

Still no answer but unknown to Pinkie, Shadow is listening.

I better leave now before I pester you even more.

She turns around and started to head off down the hill, casting her head down the ground.

I'm so sorry, Shadow...

She walk through the orchard head still down, she couldn't see anything in front of her until she bumped into someone, she stumble backward and looks up, there in front of her is Twilight, Spike and Sonic smiling at her, apparently they were watching her, Pinkie sighed.

 *Sigh* I know what you are going to say, "Leave Shadow alone", "let him be" and "let him do his own thing", I know, i know! But I have to get it off my back, I can't let myself be unhappy without letting him know I'm truly sorry!

Well you did the right thing and in a calm way too. We're just glad you understand now.

Like there are ponies that can have fun in their own way, even when they are not smiling.

And shouldn't force someone to do something just because you want them to.

Yep! I learn that it is ok to make most pony smile but there's some just don't want to smile and that is ok! But I shouldn't force them to do so just because I want them to. Hence the saying "You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink" or as I like to say "you can chase a hedgehog around just to see him smile but you can't make him smile for real".

Spike puff a small green flame on the scroll turning into a puff of magic smoke and it's zooms of to Canterlot.

They all dashed off, cheering, unknown to them, Shadow was watching them at the corner of his eye and heard the whole thing, he sighed in content for the peace and quiet he's having now and on his face is a small but simple smile.

It took a while for Pinkie to cheer up ponies that gotten grumpy from that day with Shadow's smile but they all soon cheered up, Pinkie was enjoying seeing ponies smiling again until she saw Shadow at the end of the town, Pinkie looks at him for a moment, she nod her head once and went back cheering up ponies again,leaving Shadow alone in peace, Pinkie have truly learn a good lesson from that very day that "You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink" or as she like to say "you can chase a hedgehog around just to see him smile but you can't make him smile for real"
